I love Pinterest! do you? and am fascinated to find that my most pinned image is the anonymous photograph of smiling boys featured above.
I guess this image is so popular because of the joy which emanates from the cheeky chappies despite their obvious shared poverty and, I imagine, hardship. To me it also speaks of the optimism of childhood and youth and the belief that anything is possible and the ability to find joy in adversity – all attributes which we need to be mindful of cultivating as we get older and bruised by our own unique life experiences.
I have a board called ‘Strangers To Me’ on Pinterest which, unsurprisingly, features strangers to me! and I often pause to reflect upon the folks featured in these photographs and ponder…
